Caring for Edmonton Kids & Their Developing Smiles
Regular dental care is just as important for kids as it is for adults. At Canada Place Dental, our dentists and dental team will work with you to meet the oral health needs of your children, and keep their smiles healthy and happy today and into adulthood.
Request An AppointmentFirst Visit By Age One
Infants should be seen by a dentist after the first six months of age or by the time the child is one-year old. By this time, their first teeth (primary teeth) will begin to erupt.
It is essential that the primary teeth are healthy because their development sets the stage for the permanent adult teeth.
Early Positive Dental Experiences
At Canada Place Dental, we're committed to helping children feel at ease during their dental appointments.
Our dentists and team will work with you and your child to make visiting the dentist a positive experience. We will go at their pace, take breaks if they need them, and explain each step of the process.
Preventive Hygiene & Exams
Visiting the dentist for regular exams and cleanings will help your child preserve their baby teeth until they are ready to fall out and be replaced by the adult teeth.
During each appointment, your dentist or hygienist will review proper brushing and flossing techniques with your child to ensure that they are practicing good oral health care at home.
Restorative Services
If your child is at risk of decay, develops a cavity, or is experiencing misalignment issues, your dentist may also recommend restorative treatments such as dental fillings and mouth guards.
Our dentists also perform frenectomies for babies and children when the frenum in the mouth is restricting oral function, commonly referred to as tongue-tied or lip-tied.
